BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Manatee County School District's bond spending may be investigated by the FBI.

According to published reports, the district's staff attorney reviewed unauthorized spending related to a 2009 sales tax bond.

The district wants to find out how $3 million of a $45 million sales tax bond was spent.

The staff attorney says he's required to report the information to law enforcement.

Law enforcement officials will decide if the investigation continues.
