MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - Family and friends gathered Sunday to remember former Palmetto High School media specialist Patrick Mullins, and investigators are still looking for clues in his mysterious death.

On January 27th, 2013, Mullins went missing after taking a boat out in the Manatee River to test the motor. His unoccupied boat was found two days later near the mouth of Tampa Bay, and his body was found a week and a half later with a boat anchor tied around him and a gunshot wound.

Sunday, lanterns were lit by family and released into the sky.

His death was first ruled "undetermined". But with pressure from Mullins' family, the Manatee County Sheriff's office has kept the case active.

The family hopes a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction will bring new leads in the case.
