CHARLOTTE CO., FL - A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 9, for Sergeant Michael Wilson of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

Wilson was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic disturbance call Monday night at the Tuscana Apartments in Port Charlotte.

A public viewing will take place at the Charlotte Harbor Event Center, 75 Taylor Street, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday a funeral be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a honorary procession.

The procession route will begin at the event center, then head north on U.S. 41 to Veteran's Blvd., and circle back to the event center.

Florida Governor Rick Scott and law enforcement officers from around the nation are expected to attend.

Sgt. Wilson was a 21 year veteran of the sheriff's office and leaves behind a wife and three teenage children.
