ENGLEWOOD,Fla. -A woman who was arrested in December on Child Abuse charges in connection with the death of her infant son was arrested again Tuesday on charges of violating the terms of her pre-trial release.

24-year-old Sharon Marie Swat, 24, previously of 10379 Kidron Avenue in Englewood, was arrested by Major Crimes detectives on December 14, 2013, on charges of Child Abuse Causing Great Bodily Harm.  According to that arrest paperwork, she is alleged to have left her two children, an 11-month old son and a four year old daughter unattended in the bathtub on June 3, 2013.

The boy was found face down in the water, which was running over the side of the tub.  Emergency workers began CPR on the infant and he was transported to Englewood Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation, detectives measured the bathtub and ran water to test how it filled and drained.  They found that, with the drain open, after 34 minutes of the water running, the tub had mostly filled but did not overflow.

Swat posted a $75,000 bond and was released on December 15, 2013 with the condition that she have no contact with children, including her own daughter.

On Tuesday January 21, detectives were notified by personnel from the Department of Children and Families that they had information that Swat was picking up her daughter at the bus stop at Kidron Avenue and Flintlock Street in Englewood.  At about 3:30 pm, detectives witnessed Swat in the passenger seat of her husband’s vehicle at that bus stop.  Their daughter was in a car seat in the back seat of the vehicle.

Swat was arrested on charges of Violation of a Condition of Pre-Trial Release.  She is being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond.
