SARASOTA, Fla. – There’s no need to be alarmed if you pass by the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport on Wednesday afternoon and see emergency personnel.

Crews across two counties will be taking part in a mock drill at the airport. SRQ must conduct a drill like this every three years in order to maintain its FAA operator certificate.

Rescue crews will get the chance to observe, record and pass information to the public. Students from across the Suncoast will take part in the drills, playing the roles of victims, friends, and family.

The drill will be happening Wednesday from 3pm-5pm.
