SARASOTA, Fla. -- The Tampa native craft beer chain World of Beer will soon add its largest pub in the region to the city of Sarasota. The new location will be at 1888 Main St., replacing the locally owned Eat Here, which closed Sun., June 22nd.

World of Beer managing partner, Dean Lambert, spoke to the Sarasota-Herald Tribune and said he loved that location and has been hoping to take over the lease for some time.

Lambert isn't worried about the turnover of businesses that have occupied that location before, saying the area has become more of an up-and-coming destination.

The two-story pub will be twice as large as other World of Beers in the area, and will include a full kitchen, 40 to 50 beers on tap, and nearly 500 different types of bottled beer available as well.

Eat Here's Sarasota location was one of three open in the area, the other two located on Anna Maria Island and Siesta Key. There are no plans to close either of those locations according to the news release.

Lambert says the current plan is to have the new World of Beer location in Sarasota open by late summer or early fall. The chain is also working on opening a WOB in Bradenton and expanding the existing location near the soon-to-open Mall at University Town Center.
