ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Fla. -- Generous donations from charity groups will keep the doors open at the Anna Maria Island Community Center.

A few weeks ago, the center announced it was in serious financial trouble and in danger of closing. But since then, six non-profit groups have donated more than $66,000.

And the center's executive director, Dawn Stiles, say an anonymous donor has also pledged to donate $50,000.

Stiles says the center's new budget is strong and she is confident it will remain open. However, they are still in need of donations and volunteers.
