Dolphin Aviation hands out scholarships to five Suncoast students

SARASOTA - Scholarships were handed out Thursday by State Senator Nancy Detert as part in Dolphin Aviaition's scholarship awards ceremony.

Five well deserving students were each given $1,000 toward their higher education.

The recipients were:

  • Breanna Barrett of Venice High School, who will be attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College
  • Brittany Detert of Venice High School, who will attend University of Florida
  • Mekala Jones of Booker High School, who will attend Florida State University
  • Tiana Smith of Southeast High School, who will attend Gulf Coast University
  • Jessiah 'Jesse' Straw of Sarasota Military Academy, who will attend New York University
