SARASOTA, Fla. --  Three convicted feleons have been arrested after investigators say they received a shipment of a half-kilo of the drug 'Molly'.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office worked in conjunction with the United States Postal Inspection Service in the arrests.

According to the sheriff's office, Border Patrol intercepted the package when it arrived from China and notified Postal Inspectors that the recipient was a woman on Twin Drive in the North Sarasota area. They notified detectives who set up surveillance, watched the woman sign for the package and immediately contacted her and three men waiting in a gold Chevy Impala.

Detectives learned that two men from the Florida Panhandle asked Zachary Farr, who recently moved back to Sarasota, for an address they could ship the package to. Early Wednesday morning, Matthew Townley of Niceville, Florida, who was paid $800 to pick up the package, and Robert McKuhen of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, drove to Sarasota to meet Farr and retrieve the shipment.

All three suspects are charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Dimethylmethcathinone. McKuhen is also charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (23 prior felony convictions). Farr is also charged with Possession of Cannabis. Detectives determined the woman who signed for the package was not involved in the crime.

Molly, also known as MDMA or Esctasy, is sold as a stimulant. It is a man-made chemical substance that can interfere with the body's ability to regulate its temperature and can cause serious heart and kidney problems, and in some cases, death.

"The quantity of this party drug seized here would have equaled about 5,000 doses," says Sheriff Tom Knight.
