SARASOTA - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Sarasota woman in connection with the death of her husband in the driveway of their home.

It happened March 17 at their home on Oakford Road in Sarasota.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, just after midnight on March 17, the couple’s son called 911 requesting an ambulance for his father who was lying in the driveway and not breathing. Deputies also responded and found 48-year-old Christopher Williams deceased.

According to witnesses, 45-year-old Leslie Williams and Christopher were arguing inside the home and then moved outside. During the confrontation, Leslie got into her 2006 GMC Yukon Denali and Christopher walked toward the gate at the end of the driveway. Investigators say Leslie put the Yukon in drive and struck the victim with the front of the vehicle, knocking him into the gate. Leslie continued driving, running over Christopher as she fled the scene. Deputies found Leslie and the vehicle at her mother’s home shortly after the crime.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Leslie Williams and she turned herself in Wednesday morning. She is charged with Vehicular Homicide and Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Death.

She was booked into the Sarasota County Jail, where she is currently being held without bond.
