PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Detectives arrested a Port Charlotte man late Wednesday night after they say he shot his father during a domestic disturbance at their house.

Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 4100 block of Barnes Lane in Port Charlotte at about 8:30 pm on Wednesday for a domestic disturbance complaint in which a shotgun was supposed to be involved. When they arrived, they found that the 49-year-old father was injured from a gunshot wound. They took custody of the shotgun and called for medical assistance for the man.

According to both the victim and other witnesses, the victim and his son, 30-year-old Tucker Christopher Hucknall, had been fighting with each other when Hucknall allegedly got a shotgun from his bedroom and pointed at his father. The gun went off and the victim was wounded in the lower abdomen.

The victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. Hucknall was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail where he is being held without bond.
