1 dead after gunfire exchanged in Bradenton neighborhood

BRADENTON, FL. - One person is dead after gunfire is exchanged in a Bradenton neighborhood.

It happened Sunday around 10:20 pm at 4208 24th Street West.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua Pinkham and Roy Potter were sitting outside in the carport when three males, dressed in black, with masks over their faces, came around the corner of the duplex and approached the victims.

The suspect, James M. Brady, pointed a handgun at Pinkham and ordered him to the ground. Pinkham pulled out a handgun and gunfire was exchanged between the two.

Brady was shot and the two other suspects took off on foot. No one else was injured.

EMS arrived and Brady was pronounced deceased.

Detectives are searching for the other two suspects. No one has been charged in the incident. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call MSO at 941-747-3011, ext. 2216 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
