SARASOTA, Fla. -- Sarasota County officials are considering suing Sanborn Studios for the money the county invested into the production company.

According to the Bradenton Herald, commissioners gave more than a half million dollars to the studio back in 2010. In return, more than a hundred jobs and a projected $164 million was to be returned to the local economy.

Sanborn lasted 15 months in its 30,000 square foot Lakewood Ranch studio before moving to a much smaller space near the Sarasota Bradenton Airport.

According to the agreement between the county and Sanborn, the company was required to add 117 jobs by September of 2013, or pay some of the money back.

The county will take up the issue in their June 10th meeting.
