SARASOTA - Sarasota County has canceled a precautionary boil water advisory for homes and businesses from Central Sarasota Parkway south to Laurel Road.

The advisory was issued Tuesday, July 23, following a significant drop in water pressure that occurred around 8:30 a.m.

The county is using automated telephone calls to notify residents and businesses in the affected area.

The county collected a series of samples in the affected area and analyzed them to ensure the drinking water wasn't contaminated by potentially harmful bacteria during the service interruption.
