Cops seize 165 grams of pot, 33 grams of coke from Sarasota home

SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) – A 26-year-old man was arrested after a search warrant led police to over 30 grams of cocaine and 165 grams of marijuana.

The Sarasota Police Department Narcotics Unit, SWAT Team, Patrol Division and Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant 1738 23rd Street. They arrested Donnie Brinson, of Bradenton, on July 7, who was on the property at the time.

Reports of drug sales were reported coming from the home by neighbors. The home is just 400 feet from an Early Learning Center.

Police found: 165 grams of marijuana, 33.7 grams of cocaine, 51 oxycodone pills, 7 morphine pills, gun magazine with ammunition, and a storage/cargo trailer.

Brinson had $437.25 on him, a small digital scale and about 60 grams of marijuana where found in his vehicle. 

He was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school and Possession of Paraphernalia.


This investigation continues pending results of latent evidence collected from the various items seized. 

Additional charges for other individuals are possible.
