MANTEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Coast Guard crew had to rescue three people whose boat started sinking off the coast of Anna Maria Island Sunday afternoon.

The call came in just before 4pm Sunday.

According to the Coast Guard it happened eight miles west of Bean Point, which is the northernmost point on Anna Marian Island.

A 37-foot boat was taking on water when the distress call was made.

Crews responded and were able to quickly tow the vessel to Bradenton Beach Marina. No one was hurt.
