SARASOTA COUNTY - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has concluded its Click It or Ticket Campaign, which ran March 1-16, 2013.

During the two-week operation, deputies found 181 seatbelt violations, but also cited 297 motorists for speeding, 58 motorists for driving with a suspended license, 29 for careless driving and made 16 DUI arrests. One driver was cited for not having their child in a proper restraint.

The effort was part of a statewide push to save lives and reduce injuries should accidents occur. In Florida, all motorists are required to buckle-up when riding in the front seat, and passengers under the age of 18 must use proper seat restraints regardless of where they are seated in the vehicle.
