City Employees in North Port collect blankets for homeless students

NORTH PORT, FL- In response to a request from the Backpack Angels, City of North Port employees are collecting blankets for homeless students from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014.

Due to the recent cold weather, many homeless students are in need of blankets. Anyone who would like to donate blankets (new or used) can bring the blankets to the receptionist desk at City Hall (first floor) or call Julie Bellia at (941) 628-8455 if you would like your donated blan kets picked up. The City thanks you for any help you are able to provide.

Rules of Conduct

  • 1 Keep it Clean. Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist or sexually-oriented language.
  • 2 Don't Threaten or Abuse. Threats of harming another person will not be tolerated. AND PLEASE TURN OFF CAPS LOCK.
  • 3 Be Truthful. Don't knowingly lie about anyone or anything.
  • 4 Be Nice. No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism that is degrading to another person.
  • 5 Be Proactive. Use the 'Report' link on each comment to let us know of abusive posts.
  • 6 Share with Us. We'd love to hear eyewitness accounts, the history behind an article.
