Brightly colored and elaborate dragon boats will soon be seen on the Manatee River.  The first Dragon Boat Festival will take place on March 29th at the Bradenton Riverwalk.

More than one thousand people are expected to attend the inaugural event.  A promotional campaign began this week.

Event organizers have reportedly been eyeing the Riverwalk for years as a racing destination.
