CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL-  Punta Gorda City officials will take up the issue of too much sound coming from Punta Gorda Airport.

According to the Sun Herald Newspaper, residents of the Burnt Store Meadows community say jets landing and taking off from the airport are creating too much noise.  In September, after months of complaining from area residents, airport officials entered into an agreement with the F.A.A. control tower in Fort Myers  to redirect traffic around the residential communities.

Airport officials will have a private meeting with FAA officials on Monday to discuss the issue further as the airport continues to grow.

The increase in air traffic has also been noticed in the Murdock area, on most nights it is almost continual. Please be aware that if air traffic is being diverted, that there is other residential areas to take into consideration. Thank You in advance to your consideration. DK
