SARASOTA- Cats recovered from Napier's Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary are now up for adoption.  The cats were among about 300 animals seized, after the Manatee County Sheriff's Office raided the shelter. The shelter's owners are being investigated for alleged animal cruelty and fraud.

Sarasota's Cat Depot is making the cats available at a reduced adoption fee of $50 through April 30.  The rate includes a veterinary exam, microchip, spay and neuter, vaccines, and a starter bag of food.

For more information, go to www.catdepot.org, or call (941) 366-2404.

I brought my dog there about 4 years ago. The reason being I needed a good placement for him. He was 12 years old at the time and this was the only place that would accept a dog of that age. I was told he would not be euthanized and would be well taken care of. I gave them $1500 to help with expenses. After this report I hope that that was the case. His name was JJ and I would like to know what happened to him. I would be very upset to find out he was abused.
