SARASOTA, FL. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Sarasota woman for stealing thousands of dollars from the 94-year-old woman she was hired to care for.

Arrested is 52-year-old Lisa Redmond.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s daughter reviewed her mother’s financial statements when she came to Florida for the holidays and discovered her mother’s credit card had been fraudulently used since May 2012 to make $15,000 in unauthorized purchases.

The victim and her daughter suspected Redmond, who had cared for the woman for the past three years.

Redmond subsequently admitted the crime to detectives. She was charged with Exploitation of the Elderly and released on $1,000 bond.
