Burglary suspect sought in Sarasota neighborhood in custody

**UPDATE** 7pm -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested 46-year-old Mark Suter and 33-year-old Pamela Adkins.

Suter has been charged with one count of residential burglary, one count of misdemeanor battery, fleeing to elude and two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officer. Adkins was charged with one count of residential burglary.

Deputies say a homeowner on Maiden Lane observed the two suspects stealing a bicycle from a home and tried to stop them.  That's when Suter reportedly punched the homeowner and left the scene in the SUV.  Adkins fled on foot and was caught nearby.

Suter was pulled over at Tuttle Avenue and Webber Street, but drove off when a deputy reached into his vehicle to arrest him.  Deputies later found his abandoned car, then found Suter in a residence.

**UPDATE** 4pm - The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has taken the male burglary suspect into custody. More information will be released when it becomes available.

SARASOTA, FL. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a burglary suspect in a residential neighborhood just west of Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota.

The perimeter streets are currently Sunnyside, South Shade, Tuttle and Hyde Park. The streets are not closed, but law enforcement is in the area.

The original crime occurred at a home in the 3100 block of Maiden Lane, but the suspects fled in a white Toyota RAV 4. The vehicle has been recovered and one female is in custody.

Because the search for the suspect has taken deputies into the city of Sarasota, the police department is assisting. The male suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, bald, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious or knows anything about this crime is asked to call 911.
