BRADENTON, Fla. -- Red light cameras in Bradenton could be there to stay another two years.

The Bradenton City Council approved the contract with camera provider "ACS.”

But one topic of debate prior to the vote was a State Supreme Court ruling that red light cameras installed before 2010 violated Florida’s uniform enforcement law.

City Clerk Carl Callahan tells the Bradenton Herald that the ruling's impact is not yet understood, because the ruling was on an individual case rather than a class-action suit.
