BRADENTON, FL (WWSB) - Investigators are looking for the cause of the 5-alarm tire warehouse fire that broke out here yesterday.
As of Friday morning, 44th Avenue E. was still closed from 9th Street E. to 15th Street E.
Dan Callaghan Enterprises caught on fire around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The wind caused the blaze to spread quickly and plumes of dark smoke could be seen from miles as the tires burned.
The fire caused some evacuations and a mandate from local schools to pick up children who normally walk home due to the heavy smoke.
One firefighter and one factory worker were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
