BRADENTON, Fla. -- A motorcyclist was injured Tuesday morning after troopers say a minivan pulled out in front of him.

The crash happened at the intersection of 38th Avenue East and 27th Street around 8am.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Raymond Gonzalez was riding westbound on 38th Avenue.  As he proceeded through the intersection with 27th Street, a southbound minivan driven by 41-year-old Evelia Benitez-Salinas of Bradenton attempted to turn left after stopping at the stop sign.

The van pulled into the path of Gonzalez's motorcycle, and Gonzalez crashed into the driver's door.

Gonzalez was not wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries. He was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment.

Benitez-Salinas was charged with violation of right of way and for having no driver's license.
