BRADENTON, Fla. -- Despite rising prices on home sales on the Suncoast, homeowners living in Bradenton are getting a little break next year.

The Bradenton City Council agreed not to raise the millage rate on properties for the 2014-2015 year. The council voted yesterday during a meeting.

While the millage rate will stay the same, property values have gone up throughout Manatee County by 7%.

That will likely translate to an increase in property taxes if a homeowner’s property increased in value.

According to The Bradenton Herald, the city council could lower the millage rate in future meetings, but they cannot raise the rate.
