Bradenton man victim of attempted carjacking

BRADENTON,FL-  A Bradenton man is recovering after being hit on the head by three suspects during an attempted carjacking.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon Sunday at the 5600 block of 15th St. E. in Bradenton.  According to a Sheriff's office report, the victim, Jose Vazquez stopped at a gas station to make a purchase. As he got out of his car three men approached him and struck him on the head.  They then demanded the vehicle.

Vazquez got back into the car and kicked the suspects away as they were trying to pull him out of the vehicle.  Vazquez was able to drive away.  He went to a nearby hospital to get treatment.
