SARASOTA, FL. - An early morning accident leaves one man dead and another charged with DUI Manslaughter.

It happened just before 1 am Friday at the intersection of U.S. 301 and 47th Street in Sarasota.

Florida Highway Patrol says two cars entered the intersection at the same time and collided with each other.

29-year-old Siosaia Fonua allegedly got out of his vehicle and ran, but was later apprehended.

The driver of the other car, 55-year-old Scott Parker, was killed as a result of his injuries. Fonua only suffered minor injuries and is currently at Blake Memorial Hospital.

Troopers have charged Fonua with DUI Manslaughter, Driving on a Suspended License and Leaving Scene of an Accident.
