Bradenton man arrested after alledged retail theft and battery on an officer

Bradenton, FL- Manatee County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a 7-11 store at the 6800 block of 15th Street East early Monday morning, after alledgedly stealing from the store.

When deputies arrived the suspect, 31 year old Eric Moen was in the parking lot.  As deputies approached him he ran off.  Deputies gave chase, following him behind and motel and along a creek bed.

One deputies taser was deployed but Moen resisted arrest and managed to drop down into the creek.  Another deputy caught up with him on the opposite side of the creek, where again he was tased, and surrendered.

Moen faces charges of retail theft, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
