MANATEE CO., Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County Medical Examiners have conducted an autopsy on the human skeletal remains that were found in the woods behind Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission in Port Manatee.
Yesterday, two Mosquito Control Employees discovered the human skeletal remains while checking the grounds. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and began conducting a death investigation.
An initial autopsy report shows the skeletal remains belong to a 5’4”, 40- to 50-year-old White or Hispanic male. Medical examiners say the victim died of trauma to his chest area and detectives are currently investigating the case as a homicide.
No further details on the cause or method of death are mentioned in the report.
