Body found on Sarasota sandbar identified

SARASOTA, Fla. - Sarasota Police are investigating the discovery of the body of a construction worker that was found on the sandbar in Big Pass.

Big Pass is located between Siesta Key and Lido Key.

The body was found by a passing boater Tuesday morning and has been identified as 59-year-old Cresente Bautista.

Bautista, a native of the Phillippines who lived with his family in Ft. Myers, is the owner of C.B. Marine Construction Company.  His company is currently repairing a seawall at Bay Island Park near the north Siesta Key bridge.

No evidence of foul play was found, and the investigation continues.
