PORT CHARLOTTE, FL-Detectives are looking for a vintage motorboat and trailer that were taken from the driveway of a Port Charlotte home sometime Friday night.

On Saturday January 25 deputies responded to the area of the 2000 block of Tinker Street in Port Charlotte when a home owner found that his 1958 Herters model fishing boat on a trailer had been taken from the driveway of his residence.  The victim told deputies the boat and trailer had been secured with a padlock, but someone had cut through the lock to be able to remove the trailer and boat.

The boat was on a 2014 Continental aluminum boat trailer bearing Florida tag 167NVJ.  It had a 25 HP Mercury outboard motor attached.  The motor had a black housing with two white fish skeleton stickers on the sides and a stainless steel propeller.

Anyone with information concerning the theft of the boat, motor and trailer is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
