SARASOTA, Fla. - A benefit concert is being held this Saturday for slain restaurant manger, Andrew Tian. The event is at 7:00 pm.  Doors open at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota at 6:00 pm for pre-music social hour and silent auction.  Tickets $20 advance / $25 at the door.

Juan De Dios Rodriguez, a documented gang member according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison for his role in the death of popular Sarasota restaurant manager, Andrew Tian.

In July 2013, Rodriguez was one of three men who left the New Dynasty restaurant without paying their bill.  When confronted in the parking lot by the manager, Rodriguez punched Tian, causing him to suffer severe head trauma when he hit the ground.

Tian died form his injuries five days later.  Rodriguez was arrested the following week.
