MANATEE COUNTY - State wildlife officials are looking into a complaint that an east Manatee County bald eagle’s nest has been disturbed.

Bird watchers trying to photograph the eagles claim that someone has disturbed the nest near State Road 70 and Lena Road.

The Bradenton Herald is reporting that the nest borders a construction site.

State investigators are now trying to determine if any laws have been broken.

Bald eagles are protected by both federal and state laws.
