NOKOMIS, FL. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 3 men for operating a methamphetamine lab in a shed outside a Nokomis home.

Tactical Unit deputies conducted surveillance on the suspected drug house located at 210 Sago Lane Friday morning.

They witnessed Jerome Brown, Randall Langford and Walter “Ricky” Lint bringing chemicals used to cook meth in and out of the shed. When deputies determined the suspects were starting the production process they took the men into custody.

Due to the volatile nature of meth production the Sarasota County Fire Department was called to clear the scene of any immediate danger and one neighboring home was temporarily evacuated. Another HAZMAT team that specializes in cleaning up meth labs will dispose of the remaining chemicals.

All three suspects are charged with Manufacturing of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Listed Chemicals. Brown is also charged with Tampering with Evidence for throwing items used in the manufacturing process out the window, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon for the rifle found in his shed.
