Arrest made in Sarasota bank ATM robbery

SARASOTA - The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested the man suspected of robbing a woman at knife point at the Bank of America ATM last Saturday night.

Deputies arrested Max Emerson at his home in Sarasota.

Emerson was seen on surveillance photos taken at the ATM and then by security cameras at Macy’s Westfield Sarasota Square, which captured him walking into the store moments after the crime.

He was identified by the victim, his employers and a former co-worker.

Emerson was charged with Armed Robbery and booked into the Sarasota County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. He is already on probation for felony charges in Tampa that include Burglary and Grand Theft.
