BRADENTON, FLA. -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says detectives have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman in Bradenton.

32-year-old Richard W. Matthews Jr., of Bradenton, has been arrested and charged with murder and burglary after 79-year-old Helen Vanorden was found dead in her apartment on the 200 block of 46th Ave. Terrace W. Vanorden's son discovered his mother dead in her apartment on Friday night, after having last spoken with her on Thursday.

Detectives say the motive appears to be burglary, and that Matthews knew of Vanorden through one of her family members.
