SARASOTA, Fla. -- Detectives with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office are looking for a suspect they say robbed a Papa John's pizza location on the Suncoast.

Authorities say that on Sunday shortly after 6pm, an unknown suspect entered the Papa John's at Tuttle Avenue and Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota, displayed a small, fixed blade (the report suggests that it could have been a hunting knife) and demanded money from one of the employees.

After taking an unspecified amount of money, the suspect reportedly fled south across Bee Ridge Road on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, roughly six-feet tall, with a thin build and dark hair. He had a slight mustache and goatee. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a plaid green shirt, blue jeans, sandals and lime green baseball cap.

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Patrol and K-9 unit says it later located and recovered the bicycle, along with some clothing, not far from the Papa John's.

As the investigation continues, the sheriff's office encourages anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Sections at 941-861-4900, or Sarasota County Crime Stoppers at 941-366-8477.
