BRADENTON, Fla. – Several improperly cared-for animals were rescued by Animal Services at a damaged Bradenton home Wednesday.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, four dogs, five pigs, 8 fowl and 3 sheep and a lamb were found on the property of an abandoned home in the 3800 block of 38th Avenue East.

Authorities say the home burned years ago and the owner moved away, but would come back to check up on and feed the animals.

The dogs will be sent to Manatee County Animal Services and the livestock will be sent to the Manatee County Jail farm program.

Charges are pending against the owner, whom deputies are attempting to locate.
