Animal shelter owners charged with 15 counts of cruelty

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - The owners of the animal sanctuary that was raided by authorities in February have now been charged with numerous counts of Animal Cruelty.

51-year-old Alan Napier and 45-year-old Sheree Napier, owners of Napier's Log cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary, have been charged with 15 counts of Animal Cruelty and one count of Fraud.  They were arrested Thursday afternoon at their State Road 64 property.

The animal cruelty charges involve nine dogs, five horses and one cat.

On February 5, 2014, deputies executed a search warrant at their facility , where over 300 dogs, cats, horses, pigs and other animals were confiscated from the property.

A judge set Alan Napier's bail at $24,000 and Sheree Napier’s at $21,000.
