The ABC 7 Amazing Woman this week is Alexandria Twigg. Alexandria will be 18 in Oct. She's our youngest Amazing Woman ever. But she has certainly earned the title. Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at age 9, she immediately started making speeches all over the community for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Her younger sister was also diagnosed with CF, and the family has raised some $300,000 to fight the disease.
There is no known cure for Cystic Fibrosis, and life expectancy at this time is about age 40. But Alexandria is a tireless volunteer for her school and her community. She is a cheerleader at Cardinal Mooney High, on the Teen Court, and volunteers for the
Child Protection Center, All Children's Hospital and the STAR program.
