SARASOTA COUNTY - All lanes of I-75 have reopened after a school bus fire briefly closed down all northbound lanes near mile marker 204 for a school bus fire, that’s just south of the Clark Road exit. No injuries have been reported.

According to Scott Ferguson with Sarasota County School, a school bus caught fire on its way to Oak Park School.  The bus had just left the service department and was headed to the school for a field trip.

There were no students on board.  The driver started smelling something wrong from the engine compartment and pulled over.  Shortly after that, the bus caught fire.

The driver and a driver's aid were able to safely get away from the bus without injury.

The cause of fire is unknown at this point.
