VENICE, Fla. -- A multiple-vehicle crash involving an empty school bus resulted in one injury and a large backup on I-75 Wednesday.

The crash happened around 3:15pm near the River Road exit (#191).

That when the driver of a northbound Sarasota County school bus with no students in it failed to slow down in enough time and hit the rear of the Jeep.

That impact forced the Jeep into the other disabled vehicle.

The driver of the bus was charged with careless driving.

The crash had forced the closure of all northbound lanes for a short while.
