SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - It started as a simple Facebook post from Gainesville Police showing three officers preparing to work during Hurricane Irma. They may have been prepared for flood waters, but not the flood of comments from a nation of thirsty women.
Check out the original post: "Officers Nordman, Hamill, and Rengering [are a] part of the night crew getting ready to do some work. #Irma."
The post soon went viral, thanks to some hilarious comments.
Jaime Lee Daniels wrote, "The hunkapotumus is a rare, elusive, and mythical creature. Here we are lucky to see 3 huddled together in the wake of Hurricane Irma. I'm a well trained hunkapotumus handler. Send them my way and they will be well taken care of."
Then, Sarasota Police decided to send some backup to the post with their own hunky picture response:
Mary McMullen wrote, "Do I sense a challenge to a dance off? #MagicMike3"
Gainesville Police later gave an update to the original post saying, "We are dying with the comments. You've actually made our chief blush with some of them."
Two of the officers are married, but the department was happy to inform the world that the guy on the far right is single.
"Officer Rengering is being placed into Cougar Prey Protective Care, similar to the witness protection program for his safety.
And yes, there WILL be a fundraising calendar made, with the proceeds going to Hurricane Irma recovery in Florida.
