WASHINGTON D.C. (WWSB) - After a yearlong investigation into Russian meddling, the House intelligence committee has announced that they have completed their investigation into Russia Meddling in the 2016 elections.
Congressman Mike Conaway, R-TX, said in a statement that the committee completed witness interviews and has concluded that there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump administration, the Associated Press reports.
Thomas J. Rooney, R-FL, a senior member of the House Committee on Intelligence released his statement Tuesday afternoon shortly after the announcement.
“After exhaustive document review and interviews with witnesses and government officials, the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation has found no evidence of collusion or coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russian government," Says Rep. Rooney.
The Florida Congressman did say that there is "no dispute" that Russia did meddle in the election.
"States must begin to prepare themselves now to protect the integrity of our elections for 2018 and beyond."
The House committee probe was one of several investigations into Russia's meddling in the 2016 Elections.
