BRADENTON, Fla. -- A piece of History in Manatee County is on the verge of being demolished.

According to the Bradenton Herald, the Beth Salem-Reasoner Home on State Road 70 just east of U.S. 301 could soon be torn down.  On Thursday a Reasoner family member told the Manatee County Commissioners the structure is too costly to maintain.

The family tried to sell the home for $95,000 to anyone interested in relocating the house, but no offers have been made.

The house was built in 1896, and was the first home in Manatee County with indoor plumbing or a telephone.  It is owned by the Reasoner family, who are well known in the area for a nursery in Oneco.  The home will be demolished to make way for a RaceTrac Gas Station.
