Nearly 400 workers in the health services industry in Florida will soon be out of a job. The Sun Herald is reporting that Tennessee-based HMA is announcing layoffs that are effective April 4th.

HMA recently acquired three Suncoast hospitals including Venice Regional, Bayfront Health in Port Charlotte, and Bayfront Health in Punta Gorda.  HMA owns 25 hospitals in Florida.  There is no word yet on which properties will be affected.
