SARASOTA - Prostate cancer is a dreaded disease. It's the 2nd leading cause of death for American men, and 1 man in every 6 will be diagnosed with it.

But new treatments and preventions are being developed every day.

To make sure men here on the Suncoast have the latest cutting edge information, the American Cancer Society's man to man support group in Sarasota is bringing a leading prostate cancer specialist, Dr. Charles Myers, to town to discuss "A new look at prostate cancer."

"He will get discuss insights into what might be the latest treatment, the latest diagnostic tools and the latest approaches to prostate cancer. In addition, our group provides support and info and hopefully they could touch base with some of us who've had prostate cancer and we can provide information and help to them," says Facilitator Paul Zatz.

Dr. Charles Myers and A New Look at Prostate Cancer, Saturday 10 am at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Auditorium. It's open and free to the public. You don't need a reservation.
