SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - The Trump administration wants to deliver food directly to food stamp recipients. The President's budget director compares the proposal to a home meal delivery service.
The USDA America's harvest box would be sent to 38-million people, filled with staples like milk, fruit, grains, meat and pasta.
The Trump administration claims the program would save nearly 130 billion dollars over a ten year span.
Food stamp recipients will still receive about half of their monthly benefit.
